I found a blog created by video game developer from Brisbane, Australia. He is John Passfield, and he creates independent video games. Usually, I am not interested in independent video games, since I mainly play games on the Playstation 2. But I had to check out his Game Musings blog anyway; it is a fascinating visit, and it’s at www.passfieldgames.blogspot.com. I looked around and found this post that I think is a good introduction to what goes into video game development, found in the April 2007 archives; it’s title is “Inspiration and the other 99%.” It’s sort of an introduction to Passfield’s love of videogames in general. In some posts for February this year, he even writes about his experience playing video games like Rachet and Clank: Size Matters (PSP) and Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass. But it is also inspiring how he includes a little insider info on the video game industry. Video games seem to be a large part of entertainment these days. A lot of independent games are online. If you want to learn about this game developer, or if you want to learn a little more about what developers in the industry do, then go check this out. John Passfield even has a link to a new independent game called Brainiversity, and a free trial can be downloaded if you are curious.
